While Girmay Zahilay's first Executive Order ("Projecting Immigrants and Refugees in King County") is welcomed, it does not recognize that surveillance technologies will always threaten immigrant communities. It too does not ensure that undocumented constituents can safely participate in King County politics. Legal protection for immigrants facing removal should also be guaranteed, not simply funded at far from guaranteed amounts.
