Invest in Communities this Summer
This summer, during what is the peak agricultural harvest season in many states around the U.S., we will consume fresh fruits and vegetables that have been brought to our tables because of the labor of farmers and farmworkers across the country. The U.S. Senate will also be deliberating over the newest iteration of the Farm Bill, which is one of the most important bills for rural communities. It impacts our agricultural and food system, and communities throughout the United States.
As prices of fuel and groceries soar, it is more crucial now than ever that the Farm Bill fully fund programs that ensure people can put food on their tables. It is also crucial that the individuals whose labor brings this food have access to infrastructure that supports economic security, as well as physical and mental health. Many farmers, farmworkers and rural communities feel compounded stress and the direct impact of the changing economy. We need your help to send a message to Congress to tell them why the Farm Bill is so important to farmers, farmworkers and consumers.
