Demand Congress investigate all ICE-related deaths now

On January 7, 2026, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent shot and killed Renee Nicole Good, 37, in Minneapolis.

The Department of Homeland Security claimed the victim was a “violent” rioter who “weaponized her vehicle” causing an ICE agent “fearing for his life” to fire the “defensive shots” that killed her. President Donald Trump blamed the incident on the “Radical Left” and wrote in a post on Truth Social that Good "violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer."

However, videos of the incident do not match the description given by the Trump administration.

This is not the first time a civilian has been killed by ICE agents during an enforcement action.

In Chicago, an ICE officer shot and killed Silverio Villegas González at a traffic stop. Others have been killed while fleeing ICE raids, such as California farmworker Jaime Alanís Garcia, who fell from a greenhouse roof, and Roberto Carlos Montoya Valdez, who was struck by a car while running across a freeway as agents raided a Home Depot.

ICE is establishing a pattern of violence and brutal use of force — and people are dying as a result.

Congress created ICE. Congress funds ICE. Congress has a responsibility to subpoena evidence, require testimony under oath, and fully investigate to hold ICE accountable.
