Invite your Legislators to the Mass Save Hearing!

Use this quick letter writing tool to invite your State Senator and Representative to the Wednesday, May 27, 10:30 am hearing on the value of Mass Save. Read on for context:

The MA State Senate is currently reviewing H.5175, the House's proposal for an Energy Omnibus Bill. This will be the defining piece of state energy legislation this session, with massive impacts on clean energy and energy affordability. Good legislation could cut utility bills and emissions, building a more affordable and clean future for all. Bad legislation could gut our state climate programs.

The House's proposal has some good policy in it, but would cut the Mass Save budget by $1 billion. Mass Save generates $2.76 in benefits for every dollar invested by helping families access energy efficiency upgrades. Cutting another $1 billion from Mass Save on top of the recent $500 million cut would cause a devastating estimated loss of $4.5 billion in savings for ratepayers. The proposed cuts would also devastate clean energy programs across the state, hurt the 76,000 jobs supported by Mass Save, and interrupt the largest equity commitment in Mass Save history.

Senate Majority Leader Creem has called for a Hearing on the value of the Mass Save program where many of our allies and experts will testify. We need legislators from across the Commonwealth to listen in and learn about what Mass Save is providing for our communities.

Write your legislator today and urge them to attend the hearing and learn about how Mass Save helps our communities!

350 Mass is mobilizing to turn legislators out to the hearing with ZeroCarbonMA, Mothers Out Front MA, Sierra Club MA, Mass Power Forward, Passive House MA, Green Energy Consumers Alliance, LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation) Massachusetts, BCAN (Boston Climate Action Network), Northeast Energy Efficiency and Electrification Council, Elders Climate Action MA, and others across our movement.
