Join the Congressional Uyghur Caucus

Ask your U.S. Representative to Join the Congressional Uyghur Caucus

The Congressional Uyghur Caucus is dedicated to building pressure by Congress to address the severe human rights abuses perpetrated by the Chinese government against the Uyghur people in China.

This bipartisan caucus is co-chaired by Congressmen Tom Suozzi (D-NY) and Chris Smith (R-NJ). The caucus will bring together Members of Congress who have been advocating for better policy on the Uyghurs.

The goals of the Congressional Uyghur Caucus include:

  • Legislative Action: Overseeing the implementation of existing law and introducing further legislation to trace forced labor in supply chains and countering human rights abuses.
  • National Security: Strengthening efforts to fight transnational repression enabled by advanced surveillance technologies, including AI-driven facial recognition and biometric v harvesting.
  • International Cooperation: Building a global coalition to address the persecution of Uyghurs.
  • Supporting Uyghur-Americans: Safeguarding the rights of Uyghur-Americans and providing support for those who have sought refuge in America through the asylum process.

Please contact your Member of Congress and ask them to join this important caucus.
