Joint Advocacy to push for the $2.4 Billion Freedmen’s Infrastructure Restoration Act (FIRA) for the FY2027 Budget
For too long, the essential infrastructure of our historic communities has been left to crumble. This campaign is a direct demand for the federal government to fulfill its obligation to the Foundational Black American Descendants of U.S.A. Freedmen. The water and sewer crises in towns like Jackson, Marion, Prichard, Princeville, Boley, Grambling, Clearview, and Tamina are not accidental. These are the towns built and inhabited by the ethnic group of Foundational Black American Descendants of U.S.A. Freedmen. While our ancestors built the foundation of this nation’s wealth, their descendants are now forced to live with 90-year-old rusted pipes, brown water, and failing sewer systems that pose immediate health risks.
