Keep Michigan City’s Tax Dollars Local — Support Local Workers and Businesses!

HOOSIERS DESERVE BETTER.

This year, Michigan City’s Common Council passed a new wheel tax on residents which will cost families $5–$40 per vehicle starting in 2026. But while asking families to pay more, those same leaders approved $29.5 million in tax incentives for a corporate data center, Project Maize, that’s hiring workers from Alabama, Ohio, Texas, and Wisconsin.

Michigan City is using our tax dollars to fund projects that hire out-of-state contractors and workers — leaving local residents and businesses behind. We’re calling on the Mayor and City Council to ensure projects that receive tax incentives invest in Indiana workers, businesses, and communities.

SEND A LETTER TO MAYOR ANGIE NELSON DEUITCH AND THE MICHIGAN CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS, AND TELL THEM TO USE OUR TAX DOLLARS TO HIRE LOCAL WORKERS!
