The school climate improvements in the Rochester City School District have been one of the major success stories over the past few years. Suspensions are way down and academic performance is up. We need to build on strength and ensure that restorative practices and school climate supports are protected in the 2019-2020 budget. This year's budget must include:

• $1 million for the Roc Restorative Team, which is comprised of 10 teachers on assignment who support restorative justice initiatives in our schools.

• $1 million in funding for professional technical services to agencies like The Gandhi Institute, Center for Youth, and Partners in Restorative Initiatives that provide staffing and support for positive school climate work.
