You've heard about Toia Potts's heartbreaking story on WBTV and other press. Now take action to help her family in Georgia have a chance to adopt her kids & keep family together!

North Carolina is supposed to reunify kids with parents, or if that's not possible, with other loving kin. But Toia’s kids have aunts, uncles, grandparents, great-grandparents, and cousins waiting for them in Georgia. These are not kids without family.

Under federal and state law and local policy, DSS is supposed to try to keep kids with family. But now, Durham DSS has deliberately blocked the Georgia kin from filing their adoption petition with the court. It is outrageous that the DSS social worker and DSS attorney spent 13 days telling the Durham court clerk NOT to file the Woods’ adoption petitions. Interfering with court documents is illegal.
