Let Us Choose Edmonds’ Future

Edmonds residents deserve the right to choose what kind of city we want to live in. On Tuesday, July 1, City Council could decide whether to put a $14.5 million levy on the November ballot — and with it, the future of Edmonds as we know it.

If Council fails to advance a $14.5M levy, they’re taking that choice away from us: voters will not get to choose for ourselves if we want to fully fund a vibrant city.

Without this levy, we cannot fully staff our city, which will directly impact:

  • Parks: Park maintenance, bathroom and trash upkeep, playground safety, and prompt graffiti removal.

  • City Facilities: Frances Anderson Center and other city-owned properties will continue to break down without a plan for maintenance

  • Planning Department: longer lead-times on permit approvals, impacting residents and businesses

  • City Reserve Funds: Will remain in default under state law

  • Public Safety: Police department will remain understaffed, leading to longer response times

  • Safe Streets: sidewalk expansion and road surface restoration projects will be deferred

Don’t let Council make this decision for you. Tell them to put the levy on the ballot — so we can all learn more, debate the options, and make up our own minds at the ballot box this November.
