Let's Invest in a Better Life for all Ohioans

All of us deserve the resources and opportunities we all need to thrive. But today, nearly 4 out of 10 households in Ohio struggle to afford necessities each month. That’s why we are calling on state lawmakers to deliver relief to children, adults, and working families who need it. Please join us in urging state lawmakers to invest in a better life for all Ohioans by passing a state budget that provides a foundation of dignity, security, and stability for all Ohioans.

The Senate-passed budget threatens to take our state in the wrong direction. It includes a dangerous “kill switch” that could strip healthcare (Medicaid) coverage from 770,000 Ohioans — jeopardizing their ability to see a doctor or get the care they need. It would make it harder for families to put food on the table at a time when grocery prices continue to rise by cutting $15 million from Ohio’s foodbanks. It fails to make childcare more affordable, leaving parents stuck on long waitlists or forced to leave the workforce.

Instead of investing in the needs of working families, the budget delivers another $1.1 billion tax cut to the wealthiest Ohioans, with no tax relief for families making under $100,000. The latest proposal gives away over $600 million in public money to the multi-billionaire Haslem family. This is on top of 20 years of tax cuts, which means the richest 1% is getting $52,000 back each year in tax breaks.

Let's invest in what really matters — our education, our well-being and our future.

To that end, we need your help to urge state lawmakers to support a final budget that:

  1. Makes sure everyone Ohioan can get the healthcare they need. Remove the “kill switch” that could kick 770,000 Ohioans off Medicaid, including over 115,000 people in Franklin County.
  2. Helps families put food on the table by restoring funding for Ohio’s food banks.
  3. Makes it easier for working parents afford childcare by restoring the Governor’s proposals to make childcare more affordable.
  4. Ensures all children get a high-quality education by fully funding the Fair School Funding plan.
  5. Delivers tax relief to working families, not the wealthy, by restoring the refundable Child Tax Credit and rejecting new tax cuts for the rich.
