Let's Prioritize Train Safety
We've all seen the destruction communities, like East Palestine, Ohio can suffer, when transportation companies don't prioritize train safety.
In Maryland, Senator Arthur Ellis and Delegate Dana Stein have introduced legislation SB0915/HB0352 which requires two crewmembers on all freight trains sharing rail lines with passenger trains. The House of Delegates has passed Delegate Stein's bill. The ball is now in the Senate's court.

By mandating two member crews on all freight trains using commuter rails, Maryland would come into closer compliance with the Federal Railroad Administration's recommendation that virtually all trains operate with at least two crew onboard.
With two crew onboard, the risk of a crash is reduced if one member becomes injured, sick, or fatigued.
Together let's make Maryland safer!
