Tell Your State Rep: Pass Strong Data Privacy Protection
Right now, data brokers are able to buy and sell our sensitive data, like location data, with no regulations. This puts everyone, and especially vulnerable communities, at risk. And we've seen it already: right-wing actors buying up the data of women visiting Planned Parenthood, ICE using location data to surveil immigrants, and so much more. Let's take action.
Back in September, the Massachusetts Senate passed a robust data privacy bill that would prevent the purchase and sale of such sensitive data, along with other important measures to strengthen privacy rights.
And in November, the House took the first step toward joining the Senate by voting a robust data privacy bill out of committee.
Big Tech companies like Facebook and Google are going to try to water down the bill, so your legislators need to hear from YOU about the importance of getting strong legislation done asap.
