MA House: Pass the VOTES Act!
Next Wednesday (12/15), the extensions of expanded vote-by-mail and early voting reforms, which have been broadly popular across the Commonwealth, are set to expire.
The MA Senate played its part, passing the VOTES Act two months ago. But the House has still not taken up the bill.
With the Legislature in recess, it's unlikely that these important reforms will be extended before the new year. But it's important for your state rep to hear from you that passing the VOTES Act is important.
The VOTES Act not only makes vote-by-mail and expanded early voting permanent but also goes further by eliminating our arbitrary, exclusionary voter registration cutoff and strengthening protections for jail-based voting.
Tell your state rep it's time to pass the VOTES Act now.
