Make Corporate Lawbreakers Pay What They Owe #MakeEmPay

TAKE ACTION!

New York City is facing major budget shortfalls, and too often the response is cuts to the services our communities rely on. But there’s another path: the City is owed at least $1.5 billion in unpaid fines and penalties from corporations and bad-actor landlords who have broken the law.

The Make ’Em Pay campaign is about making sure the City collects what it’s already owed and reinvests that money into our communities — from education and childcare to housing, healthcare, and worker protections. We know this won’t all be recovered in a single year, but with real enforcement and accountability, it can generate significant revenue over time and stop corporations from getting away with breaking the rules.

Use the email tool below to tell the Mayor, Speaker, and your Council Member: New Yorkers are doing our part — it’s time to make them pay.
