The Make Polluters Pay Bill - HD. 3369/SD.1674, “An Act establishing a climate change superfund” - is a bill in the MA legislature introduced by Sen. Jamie Eldridge, Rep. Steve Owens, and Rep. Jack Lewis, that requires the worst carbon emitters to contribute to a Superfund to pay for climate-related damages in Massachusetts. Fossil fuel companies have knowingly endangered our world for decades, putting our lives and livelihoods at risk – they should be responsible for the damages. The Climate Change Superfund will provide funding for projects across the Commonwealth that keep our communities safe from the impacts of climate change.
