Mom Say: Shut Down Dilley, Close the Camps and Bring our Kids home

Send a Letter to Your Representative and Senators Demanding They Shut Down Dilley Detention Center Now

Children inside Dilley are screaming to be let free—and we are answering their cries. Moms across the country are standing up to demand that no child be forced to endure fear, neglect, and abuse behind detention center walls. The Biden Administration previously shut down Dilley Detention Center after uncovering severe human rights violations—but it has been reopened. Today, children are still being held in inhumane conditions: scared, sick, isolated, and denied basic care.

These are real stories from children in Dilley:

  • Ariana, 14, detained 45 days: “All I feel is sadness and mostly depression.”

  • Mia, 7: “I don’t want to be in this place. I want to go to my school.”

  • Luis, 5, communicates his sadness through drawings—no child should feel this way.

Children are forced to live in unsanitary conditions, with inadequate food, medical care, and emotional support. Pregnant women are being detained without proper oversight. Some areas of the center are off-limits to Congress—meaning what happens there remains hidden.

Child detention is never required by law. There are safe, community-based alternatives that ensure compliance without traumatizing kids. ICE has booked at least 3,800 children detention under this administration, the trauma is real and ongoing.

As moms, we know compassion doesn’t stop at our own children. It extends to every child. That’s why we’re asking you to act now:

Sign the petition demanding that the House of Representatives and the Senate permanently shut down Dilley Detention Center.

Every signature sends a clear message: every child deserves safety, freedom, and a home — not cages.
