As Muslim New Yorkers and allies, we know how important Eid holidays are to the Muslim community in New York State. Right now, no Muslim holidays are recognized across our state. This means that students cannot celebrate with their families, and are being forced to choose between their faith and their education. It’s time that our state honors the large and growing community of Muslim New Yorkers by making the Eid holidays state holidays!

Recognizing Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-al-Adha will create an opportunity for education and dialogue about the importance of the days in schools and beyond. It will also allow families and communities to celebrate together without missing school.

Let your legislators know why you support this campaign for Eid Holidays in New York State, and ask them to make it a priority this year.
