The New Jersey Climate Superfund Act (S3545/A4696) is a transformative bill that would hold major fossil fuel companies accountable for the damage they've caused through climate crisis-much of which affects water systems. Rising sea levels, flooding, drought and extreme storms threaten freshwater resources, water infrastructure and aquatic ecosystems. Funds generated by this bill would help communities repair and strengthen water systems and protect coastal areas as they face growing risks of water-related climate impacts. A similar bill was passed into law in NY last year and it is already on the books in VT. With broad support for this bill from our allies across the state, your voice is important and we appreciate your taking action to help advance this legislation now.
