No cuts to federal health care funding
Across the country, nurses and health care professionals are working overcapacity and understaffed, stretching themselves thin to care for patients. Evidence-backed safe staffing solutions, such as mandated nurse-patient ratios, could ensure nurses are able to give patients the best quality of care. But these solutions will only work if there is adequate funding to ensure nurses on the front lines have the support they need. This is no time to cut health care funding. The Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions is calling on the federal government to enhance health care funding and ensure it continues to flow to provinces and territories uninterrupted.
