Tell Oakland City Council: Stop Data Centers in Oakland!

Last Tuesday, September 22 Councilmember Carroll Fife's data center 45-day moratorium resolution passed the Life Enrichment Committee. Next Tuesday, October 6th at 3:30pm it will be voted on by the full City Council. Join us in emailing our councilmembers to urge them to pass a data center moratorium in Oakland!

The rapid deployment of data centers driven by the generative AI boom is a great threat to communities across the country, especially Oakland, which already faces industrial and commercial pollution that disproportionately impacts lower income, BIPOC residents. Without immediate action, an AI data center in Oakland could guzzle water unsustainably, keep fossil fuels online, drive more pollution, and raise your electricity bills.

You can send a letter to your Councilmember here - then join us for a rally at City Hall on Tuesday, October 6th at 2:30pm!
