Arming teachers and putting more guns in schools will not keep our kids safe.

Iowans want common-sense gun laws to protect our kids and our families. No matter which part of Iowa we come from, the majority of us, including gun owners, support responsible gun safety laws.

Offered as a response to the tragic shooting in Perry last month, Iowa House Republicans are planning to debate a bill tomorrow that will arm teachers and education personnel in public schools, private schools, and universities.

To prevent tragedies we must implement strong school safety solutions, but arming teachers is not one of them.
