NO MORE EXCUSES: Pass SB 791 and End ALL ICE Cooperation Now
For years, we watched as political games killed bills that could have protected Maryland families. Now, the same legislator, Senate President Bill Ferguson, who let those protections stall is claiming victory while leaving a dangerous "informal" loophole wide open.
The Community Trust Act (SB 791) is supported by dozens of civil rights organizations. With reports that ICE may soon deploy to Baltimore, passing this SB 791 isn't just a necessary step, it is an emergency. Right now, local law enforcement can still voluntarily collude with ICE, wasting our tax dollars to terrorize our own neighbors without any official oversight.
