Workers at Do Good Multnomah, a shelter organization in the Portland metro area affiliated with AFSCME Local 1790, are 15 months into their first contract campaign and are facing their 4th major round of layoffs in the last calendar year - this round includes an additional 14 frontline workers.

DGM management has repeatedly cut essential workers while retaining large portions of their managerial sector, resulting in a worker to manager ratio of just over 3:1. Management has also been slow on their feet to settle a first contract - their most recent proposal saw a yearly $1,500 pay cut for over 90% of staff.

DGWU is asking for the CEO and Board of Directors to:

1. Make cuts from the top to save frontline staff
2. Settle the first contract with a fair raise for DG's essential workers
3. Provide full financial transparency
