No More Road Blocks
We are writing in support and solidarity with the family of Desmond Franklin who was killed by off duty Cleveland police officer Jose Garcia April 9th 2020. While the grand jury failed to indict the officer, from the beginning of the investigation the family has been ignored, given misinformation, and has been inundated with bureaucratic red tape; showing that the City, who is made up of elected officials, views this grieving family as the enemy.
We have been made to understand that instances like this are not usual when asking anyone let alone a grieving family to provide insurance for a single sign or banner for a utility pole. If this is something that you can forego, or just make more convenient please do so. Otherwise it rightfully can be taken as an attempt to stop the family’s celebration of life for their murdered loved one, and that the City wishes to be on the record that they unconditionally supports law enforcement.
We would encourage all whom have the power to assist the Franklin family that you would do so expeditiously, as the one year anniversary of the murder of Desmond Franklin is fast approaching. We the undersigned stand in support and solidarity with the Franklin family and hope that this issue can be resolved as soon as possible.
