No war on Cuba! Pass a war powers resolution and end the humanitarian crisis.

The White House could be preparing to launch another illegal regime change war in Cuba. Trump told the Pentagon to ramp up military preparations for an attack on Cuba, according to recent reports.1

Trump said he wants to “take” Cuba and is demanding the removal of the Cuban president.2,3 Trump has enforced an illegal oil embargo on Cuba for months, causing blackouts, food shortages, water scarcity, and mass suffering.4

Senator Tim Kaine announced that he will force an imminent vote on a war powers resolution to stop military action against Cuba. Congress has the opportunity, and the constitutional authority, to block Trump from launching strikes on Cuba in the coming days.

Tell Congress: No war on Cuba! Pass a war powers resolution NOW and end the devastating oil embargo.

U.S. Representatives Pramila Jayapal and Jonathan Jackson visited Cuba recently and described what Trump has done to Cuba as, "cruel collective punishment — effectively an economic bombing of the infrastructure of the country."5

The lawmakers urged Trump to choose peace and diplomacy over war. Americans, and the world, are sick of Trump's wars.

Trump is overriding Congress to wreak havoc on the world. He bombed Venezuela and kidnapped the president. He’s waged a horrific, senseless war on Iran, and supported Israel’s strikes on Iran and Lebanon. He threatened European allies with an invasion of Greenland. Now, he’s threatening Cuba while punishing its population with mass suffering.

"Trump has started illegal regime change conflicts in Venezuela and Iran and is now threatening Cuba," Rep. Jayapal said last month. "These military attacks put our troops in danger, endanger innocent civilians, waste billions of taxpayer dollars, and are not what the American people want."6

Congress must act as a real check on Trump’s power and prevent another illegal war.

Send a message to Congress: Stop a regime change war in Cuba — vote YES on Senator Kaine's imminent war powers resolution.
