No War with Iran

On Sat., Feb. 28, the United States launched military strikes against Iran without Congressional authorization. This unilateral action risks escalating our nation into another open-ended war in the Middle East — without the constitutional approval required by law.

We're asking you to write letters to all three of your U.S. reps and senators. Demand that they stand up for the Constitution and protect the service members and families who call this region home. This letter-writing tool makes it pretty easy!

How to take action

Use this easy tool to write to: Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz • U.S. Representative John Carter (US-31, August Pfluger (US-11), or Pete Sessions (US-17)

On the next screen, please feel free to make the whole letter your own. But if you change nothing else, we strongly recommend you customize the subject line. Unique letters are taken more seriously than carbon copies.

A sign-off at the end of the letter with the your name, email, and address will automatically be added, so you don't need to add that yourself.

On February 28, the United States launched military strikes against Iran without Congressional authorization. This unilateral action risks escalating our nation into another open-ended war in the Middle East — without the constitutional approval required by law.

Here in Central Texas — home to Fort Hood, one of the largest military installations in the world — the consequences of war are deeply personal. Our community includes active-duty service members, National Guard families, veterans, civilian employees, small business owners who support military households, and children who endure repeated deployments.

We know what war means here:

  • Rapid deployments
  • Extended family separation
  • Increased strain on military spouses and children
  • Long-term physical and mental health consequences

Supporting the Iran War Powers Resolution is not anti-military. It is pro-Constitution and pro-service member. It ensures that the decision to send Central Texans into harm’s way is debated, authorized, and accountable to the American people.

In a military community like ours, decisions of war must never be rushed, unilateral, or politically driven. They must be lawful, deliberate, and constitutional.

Here’s what YOU can and must do:

• Demand a floor vote and Vote YES on the bipartisan Iran War Powers Resolution
• Reassert Congress’s constitutional authority over decisions of war and peace
• Prevent further unauthorized military escalation with Iran
• Prioritize diplomacy to avoid another prolonged conflict

We urge our Central Texas representatives to stand up for the Constitution and protect the service members and families who call this region home.
