As the Legislature wrestles with the budget, there is one more chance to fully fund public education this year.

Please send a message to your Senator and Representative and ask them to supplement the budget with enough money to provide a 1.375% increase in funding ($36.2 million), as well as $2.6 million for dual enrollment and high cost special education programs.

A 1.375% increase in funding would:

• Ensure that teacher salaries are maintained at the level approved this year.
• Help cover operational costs that come with employee benefits, such as a 10% increase in Office of Group Benefits health insurance premiums.
• Help address the high costs of special education services that our schools must provide.

Please tell your Senator and Representative to appropriate enough money to make public education whole this year.
