What’s Happening

Congress is responsible for funding the government by passing 12 appropriations bills each year by September 30.

This year, the Republican-controlled House has passed only 3 of 12 bills—and none have been agreed to by both chambers.

As a result, we’re facing a government shutdown with no reauthorized Farm Bill—leaving critical farm and food programs in limbo.

You can send this letter to your Congressional Representative (Downing or Zinke) and both senators Daines & Sheehy and let them know you want them to use their power as members of the Republican Majority to end this government shutdown and support farmers, ranchers, and rural communities.
