SB 1757 would fast track the permitting of giant rock crushers at quarries eliminating the most important element of public process in issuing permits. The bill would allow rock crusher permits for crushers that process up to 1,500 tons per hour to be issued without a Contested Case Hearing – the main way that members of the public can get polluting facilities to reduce their harm to neighbors, communities and the environment.
