Oppose HB 1158
On February 2nd, Rep. Mitchell Horner introduced HB 1158, supporting Israel’s annexation of the West Bank. The bill would require the state of Georgia to refer to the West Bank as “Judea and Samaria” in all official communications.
This is part of a national strategy by the Zionist lobby: to pressure the federal government to adopt this change and therefore approve Israeli annexation of the West Bank, by getting a large number of states to do the same.
It is also another attempt to legitimize Israel’s ongoing illegal occupation of Palestinian land and to erase Palestinian identity. If this bill passes, it will make advocating for Palestinian rights and a Palestinian state confusing and more difficult.
