Override to Fully Fund Our Schools

South Hadley is facing a significant structural deficit. That means that if we don’t take action we will face devastating cuts to essential services in our town.

Due to a lack of funding, our schools have cut 40 positions over the last two years. This year alone we stand to lose an additional 20 student facing positions and eliminate all athletics, extra curriculars, AP and honors classes and more as well as cuts to other town departments.  Our students, schools, and community cannot afford any more cuts.

Our advocacy is working! The Budget Advisory Task Force as one part of their final report recommended the $11 Million override. The Selectboard has between now and March 10th to determine exactly what the override will look like on the ballot.  We need the breathing room to figure out other revenue streams WHILE fully funding our schools and essential town services and that means an $11 Million override, nothing less.

Let the Selectboard know we need an override that will FULLY fund our schools and community.
