Alisha Burns is a victim of child sex trafficking who experienced double victimization. This means instead of seeing Alisha as a victim, she is seen as a criminal; therefore being victimized by an exploiter/trafficker AND the justice system. Instead of getting justice, as a 15-year-old girl she was charged as an adult, sent to prison, and is currently fighting to overturn her wrongful conviction and be freed from lifetime parole.
