Pass the American Rescue Plan now
Great news! After many years of Local 802 members fighting hard for pension relief -- and constant lobbying since the start of the pandemic -- the U.S. Senate has passed the American Rescue Plan, which includes pension and healthcare relief as well as expanded and renewed unemployment benefits and stimulus checks.
The possibility of pension relief without the need for benefit reductions is finally within our grasp -- and so is financial relief for musicians who have lost healthcare coverage due to the pandemic (in the form of a 100% COBRA subsidy).
We have one final hurdle! The bill has to go back to the U.S. House for final approval, after which President Biden will undoubtedly sign the final version.
Please send a letter now to your U.S. House representative by using the form on this page. After you send the letter, you can call the Capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask your representative to pass the American Rescue Plan. (The switchboard is open 7 days a week.)
Together, we can make it happen! Victory is in sight -- if we act now.
In solidarity,
Local 802
