Pass the DC Local Funds Act (S. 1077)

Congress passed, and the President signed, a spending law that slashes $1.1 billion from D.C.’s FY25 budget mid-year, including $184 million from D.C. Public Schools, and $166 million from public charter schools, and guts essential services like public transportation, police, and firefighters.

To address this issue separately, Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), Sen. Angela Alsobrooks (D-MD), Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA), Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), and Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) introduced and passed a stand-alone bill (S. 1077 - DC Local Funds Act) by voice vote to ensure that D.C. is able to spend its FY25 budget without these harmful cuts.

S. 1077 - DC Local Funds Act now heads back to the House of Representatives for approval. We need your help to urge House members to pass this legislation so that the District of Columbia can spend its own locally raised taxpayer dollars to fund schools and other essential services!
