Pause Building of New Data Centers in Orange County!
As we know, demand for data centers has surged, leaving Orange County’s already delicately balanced ecosystem in a potentially unstable position. The Florida government has allowed for individual counties to place moratoriums on all new data centers. This will hopefully give the counties time to evaluate how and if data centers fit into our communities, and how best to regulate them.
Commissioner Kelly Semrad has put forth a commissioner’s report requesting that Orange County enact a short-term moratorium to do just that. We need support from the community leading up to the county commission’s vote on September 19th. Please send our pre-filled letter (or modify as you see fit) to demonstrate to the commissioners that constituents do not want to see reckless growth of data centers without careful consideration and regulation.
