Plano ISD Staff Deserve to Thrive, Not Just Survive

Did you know that Plano ISD ranked twentieth in the metroplex in terms of teacher salary?
Based on salary comparison charts published by the United Educators Association, with a starting salary of $60,000, Plano ISD ranks number 20 compared to other districts in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, and tenure based raises are not public information.
We urge the Plano ISD board of trustees to adopt policies that grant:
- 6% raises, commensurate with Dallas, not just for teachers, but for all staff.
- $20 hourly rate for covering other classes.
- One mental health day per quarter.
- Guarantee that when displaced staff are moved, that they receive equal or greater pay than their previous position.
- Three days of bereavement leave annually.
- Providing more support for teachers in the planning process through instructional leadership teams.
- Childcare rates commensurate with Richardson ISD.
