Please Help Fund Competitive Chess in NYC Public High Schools
New York City has invested in bringing chess to thousands of elementary and middle school students, but support for competitive chess drops significantly once students reach high school.
This student-led campaign was organized by siblings Yotam, Hillel, and Maya Doron-Repa, three longtime New York City scholastic chess players, who want to see stronger opportunities for students to continue playing and competing in chess through high school.
We are asking New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) and the Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL) to provide greater financial and institutional support for competitive high school chess, including funding for coaching, tournament fees, and stronger school teams.
Please join us by sending the prepared letter to NYCPS and PSAL leadership. It only takes a minute.
After sending your letter, please take one more step and sign and share our petition to support competitive chess in NYC high schools (you can also find the petition link in the last - "thank you" page of this letter).
