Please Oppose H.R. 2585 – The Armenian Genocide Education Act

Dear Representative,
As your constituent and a proud Turkish-American, I respectfully urge you to oppose H.R. 2585, the Armenian Genocide Education Act.
This bill proposes allocating $10 million in taxpayer funds to promote a one-sided and highly disputed historical narrative. It does not reflect the full complexity of World War I events in the Ottoman Empire, including the suffering of all ethnic groups involved.
Legislating history in this manner not only marginalizes Turkish-American voices, but also sets a dangerous precedent for using public education to promote political agendas.
Our country should support balanced historical education that includes multiple perspectives, encourages critical thinking, and avoids labeling events without due process or scholarly consensus.
Please stand for fairness, academic integrity, and the constitutional separation between government and historical adjudication.
I urge you to vote NO on H.R. 2585 and instead support inclusive, fact-based education.
Sincerely,
