Preserve Section 504! Protect people with disabilities

This is the letter template if you live in one of the 33 states that are NOT part of the 'Texas v. Becerra' lawsuit.
These states are suing: Texas, Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, lowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, West Virginia.
Section 504 is at risk of being deemed unconstitutional and we need to demand the Attorney General's in the 17 states drop the suit. This letter will send to your Governor to demand their AG file an amicus brief defending disability rights.
Section 504 is a "spending clause" that makes it a requirement for entities that receive federal funding to make their services accessible for those with disabilities - this impacts places like healthcare, schools, and workplaces. Disabilities are more than just what you see - this includes folks with food allergies (like my son!), blindness, hearing challenges, neurodivergence, unique learning needs, certain chronic health conditions, gender dysphoria, and more.If this is overturned, companies, schools, healthcare and more likely will stop making their services accessible and safe (because inclusion can be costly but is so worth it!); and, this could open a pathway to jeopardize the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act).
17 states are suing in "Texas vs. Becerra" - not just to remove parts of the law they don't like (like including gender dysphoria in the list) - they want the whole law thrown out.
