Protect EPA workers- Bring PAWA to the House and Senate Floor!

Trump and Zeldin have attacked EPA workers and their union. Contact your federal representatives to support legislation that will restore their rights!

Starting on August 11, 2025, U.S. EPA unilaterally banned unions from its workplace, pursuant to Trump's EO 14251. President Trump’s executive order launched the single biggest act of union-busting in our history, ripping the right to collectively bargain away from hundreds of thousands of federal workers.

What this means:
  • The right to collectively bargain over workplace conditions is null and void;
  • EPA's unions may not represent employees in the workplace and will have to vacate union offices;
  • Union contracts will no longer be respected by management; and
  • EPA employees can not file grievances - including for discrimination or issues affecting health, safety, and the protection of human health and the environment before a neutral arbitrator.
This union-busting decision is an ambush on the very people who work to protect our clean air, water and soil. It is a direct and personal attack on science workers already burdened and demoralized by the depletion of resources and the exodus of fellow workers who've been fired or have chosen to leave the hostility of the current administration. It will harm the health of the public at large and our planet.

How can you help restore the rights of EPA workers? Write your federal representatives and tell them to bring the Protect America's Workforce Act (PAWA) to the floor of the House and Senate. PAWA is a bipartisan bill aiming to restore collective bargaining rights for federal workers. The bill has garnered significant support, with 222 House cosponsors in the 119th Congress.

However, despite this widespread support, the bill has been stalled in committee by House Majority leadership. To bypass this obstacle and bring the bill to a vote, supporters filed a discharge petition. Because bipartisan support has already been demonstrated for the bill, a discharge petition would significantly expedite the process and allow for a swift House vote.
We are actively urging every House Member to sign the discharge petition to ensure the bill is brought to the floor for a vote. And we are urging every member of the Senate to support PAWA once it is introduced in the Senate.

Write your Senators and Representative to express support for PAWA and show your opposition to this unilateral contract termination by EPA Administrator Zeldin.
