Protect Illinois Families: Fully Fund Access to Justice at $50 Million

The proposed Illinois state budget includes an almost 30% cut to the Illinois Access to Justice (ILA2J) program—funding that supports legal services and community-based outreach for Black, Brown, and immigrant communities across our state.

ILA2J is a statewide network of 91 partner organizations providing critical legal representation, know-your-rights education, and community navigator support. At a time when enforcement is increasing and families are facing heightened instability, cutting this funding would deepen harm and leave thousands without access to legal defense.

Budgets are a blueprint of our state’s priorities. Illinois must choose to invest in protection, due process, and community stability.

Tell your legislator: We need full $50 million funding for Illinois Access to Justice.
