Protect international student rights and the quality of SVA!

The US State Department is pausing visa interviews for international students. This decision could severely harm higher education, including at the School of Visual Arts.

This is a direct attack on what we stand for and our mission at SVA: to train future creative leaders from across the globe. At SVA, international students make up 49% of our undergrad students, and 60% of our graduate student body. International students are critical to our community and the pursuit of the arts; they strengthen every discipline. These changes affect our future, as well as raise potential concerns around faculty job security, and tuition.

Join SVA/FAC-UAW and make your voice heard: urge your elected representative to convey to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem that we must welcome international students and scholars to study at colleges and universities throughout the U.S.

Use the sample letter linked on the following page, and join us in writing to our elected officials in support of international students. The time is now to stand up together for our community!
