Protect Kansan Tenants!

HB 2504, a bill written by the Kansas Association of Realtors, would sell renters short while protecting landlords. The bill would leave cities and counties powerless to stop discriminatory practices like credit score checks, unaffordable security deposits, or refusing government housing assistance. If passed, it would ensure that landlords alone decide when someone is too poor to deserve a safe place to call home.

It's cruel to prioritize the profits of landlords in the middle of a national housing crisis. Topeka should be passing bills that help solve it instead. One bill that could help is SB 371, a bill that would let tenants be first to buy their living place if their landlord decides to sell it.

Tell your representatives in the Kansas Senate to vote NO on HB 2504, and YES on SB 371!
