Tell Your Governor to Stop RFK Jr.’s Dangerous Rollback of Childhood Vaccines
For more than three decades, the U.S. childhood vaccine schedule has been built on science, expert review, and real-world evidence. That system has saved millions of lives. Now, it is being dismantled from the top down.
Under Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., federal officials abruptly reduced the number of routinely recommended childhood vaccines from seventeen to eleven.
This was not driven by new safety data or medical breakthroughs. It was driven by politics and ideology.
The changes bypassed the long-standing expert review process that ensured vaccine recommendations were grounded in evidence. Vaccines that once protected all children are now pushed into “shared decision-making,” shifting responsibility onto families who may lack access to doctors, time off work, or reliable medical guidance.
Public health experts warn this will reduce vaccination rates and accelerate the return of deadly but preventable diseases. The United States is already experiencing a surge in measles cases and could soon lose its measles elimination status. This rollback pours fuel on that fire.
Governors have the power to stop this. States set vaccination standards for schools and public health programs. They can continue following evidence-based guidelines instead of political directives from Washington.
Children’s lives should never be part of a political experiment.
