Protect Mainers from the Data Center Gold Rush!

It's official: the data center gold rush has come to Maine. Yet Maine has no policies in place to protect us from the data center gold rush.

And last week, we learned that secret meetings have already taken place between Maine politicians and big data center developers eager to cash in.

Without full transparency, self-serving decisions will follow.

And what about affordability? Big, energy-hungry data centers could badly inflate Maine's already near-highest-in-nation electricity costs. They could also imperil clean energy progress, use huge amounts of water, and accelerate AI-related layoffs.

Let's tell our Governor and state legislators TODAY:  Enact LD 307, including a temporary moratorium on new data center approvals. This is an election year, and we want to see you doing what's right. Please give experts and policy leaders time to review data center challenges and best practices -- in the full light of day -- and to enact policies that protect Maine people!
