Tell Congress: Protect Medicaid Funding for Utahns

"I am writing to you today as a concerned constituent to express my strong support for Utah's Medicaid program and to urge you to oppose any proposals that would result in funding cuts or weaken this vital healthcare safety net.

"Medicaid provides essential health coverage for hundreds of thousands of Utahns, including low-income families, children, pregnant women, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. For many in our community, Medicaid is their only pathway to accessing necessary medical care, preventive services, prescription medications, and long-term care. It is a critical resource that promotes health, economic stability, and overall well-being across our state.

"Cutting funding for Medicaid would have devastating consequences for Utah families and our healthcare system. It could lead to reduced benefits, stricter eligibility requirements, or even the complete loss of coverage for vulnerable individuals. This would not only jeopardize the health of our neighbors but also place a greater financial burden on families, hospitals (especially in rural areas), and taxpayers who would inevitably face the costs of uncompensated care.

"Medicaid is more than just a healthcare program; it is an investment in the future of Utah. It ensures that children can receive the care they need to succeed in school, that adults can manage chronic conditions and remain productive members of the workforce, and that our seniors and neighbors with disabilities can live with dignity.

"I understand the importance of fiscal responsibility, but balancing the budget should not come at the expense of the health and well-being of our most vulnerable citizens. I strongly urge you to prioritize the needs of Utahns by protecting Medicaid from harmful funding cuts and opposing any legislation or administrative actions that would undermine the program's ability to serve our communities effectively.

"Thank you for your time and consideration of this critical issue. I look forward to your response and hope you will stand strong in support of Medicaid for the people of Utah."
