Morgan Hill hosts an active federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) field office at 220 Vineyard Court that serves as a regional enforcement and administrative anchor.

While California’s Attorney General, Santa Clara County, and several individual cities throughout the Bay Area have stepped up to oppose ICE in an active lawsuit, Morgan Hill City Council has chosen a path of active compliance. When given the opportunity to join the multi-agency lawsuit to permanently block the proposed Holsclaw Road ICE facility in Gilroy, the Morgan Hill City Council hid behind closed doors on June 24, 2026, refusing to take a principled stand or offer a transparent public explanation. Even Gilroy managed a public resolution, but Morgan Hill chose utter silence.

We cannot claim to be a "welcoming community" while dodging public accountability and rolling out the red carpet for ICE concentration camps to take root in our backyard!

We need open, transparent, and protective leaders who do not open our doors to federal overreach!

We need to take action, NOW!

1. Join the Legal Fight: Sign the multi-agency amicus brief to permanently block the Holsclaw Road ICE facility.

2. Confront the Vineyard Court ICE Field Office: While local officials can’t forcibly end the private lease of the 220 Vineyard Court ICE property, they can establish mandatory "no-staging" buffers and absolute non-cooperation policies to ensure city resources, public property, and local police are never used to facilitate its operation. So do so.

3. Establish a “No-Staging” Policy: Ban ICE from using public parks, parking lots, or municipal buildings as staging grounds.

4. Deny Infrastructure Support: Refuse to grant utility hookups or municipal aid to the Holsclaw Road property.

5. Strengthen Sanctuary Protections: Formally prohibit local police, city officials, and city funds from assisting ICE.
