Protect Public Safety and USW Jobs in Massachusetts!
Massachusetts lawmakers are considering H.3517, a bill that would weaken important gas safety inspections by ending the requirement that gas meters be replaced every seven years. If inspections happen less often, dangerous conditions are more likely to go undetected – putting gas workers, customers, and communities at greater risk. Additionally, fewer inspections would reduce utility staffing thus weakening emergency response capacity across Massachusetts. Now is the time to stand up for public safety and utility workers by urging your Massachusetts State Represenative to oppose H.3517!
