Our National Forest "Roadless Areas" are some of the most important places in the American atlas, providing clean water to our communities, protecting fish and wildlife habitat, and safeguarding our economy from droughts and floods.
The US Forest Service took an important first step to protect these wild places in 2001, but now these critical landscapes are under attack by the Trump Administration. The US Forest Service has initiated a process to rescind the immensely popular 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule, putting 45 million acres of the healthiest and wildest forests in the nation in the crosshairs, including approximately 260,000 acres across the White and Green Mountain National Forests in New Hampshire and Vermont.
The Roadless Area Conservation Act of 2025, H.R.3930 and S.2042, would make the Roadless Rule permanent, and prevent the Forest Service from rescinding the Roadless Rule. Please contact your members of Congress today and ask them to support the Roadless Area Conservation Act!
